IIRC Amelia Island Concours is typically early March and is not a 928 exclusive event I've been to Amelia 3-4x in the last 10 years and have met you, your family and have seen your cars at least twice. It's looking like Springtoberfest will be the last weekend in April. That said, jump on a plane or drive out and to this Sharktoberfest late April T

Hey Tony - I should have used full English I should have written I am giving consideration to hosting a 928/Sharks event which would piggyback the Amelia Concours Event.

I just posted another thread with a poll to see if there is interest. There was pretty healthy interest from Florida/South East Shark Owners on FB.

I'm not saying I will never fly to a 928 event but I just like the thought of driving there. I think generally spacing out events is really a great idea! It was a bit of challenge doing both the SITM and 928 Rendezvous in Atlanta both in June of this year.

Not trying to take away from another 928 event and still trying to figure out what dates will work best. Originally wanted to move this event to mid March but with those from up north (PAC NW/Canada) wanted to move it to late Apr and that's totally understandable. Will eventually figure it out...no dates set in stone at this time. T

Hey Trey, Did not know your intentions before this^^^was posted. Also think it's great you'd like to host a 928 event around the Amelia event...just do it T

Another consideration for us PNWers is that the All Porsche Day at XXX Drive-In is typically also held around the 3rd weekend in April. This is the first big Porsche event of the year up here and attracts easily the largest number of 928s (20 to 30) of any event all year in the Seattle area. A lot of us target this event as motivation to de-hibernate our cars and catch-up with old friends we hadn't seen since the rains sheltered us 6 months prior. Thus I'd vote for the 4th weekend in April just to be selfish .

Hey Nate. Wow...thats quite a turnout for a regional 928 event and have never heard of it. Thanks for chiming in and will take this into consideration before finalizing a date for "Springtoberfest 2020. Also, lets get that NW group to Sharktoberfest T

Ok, how does the last weekend of April, Fri, Apr 24th - Sun, Apr, 26th sound ? This weekend does not appear to conflict with any other 928 events^^, and those to the north should now be out of hibernation T

You are the Master of Events, Tony! (I especially appreciate the help you've given me.) Perhaps you can compile a master list of events of interest to 928 owners, properly described, categorized and linked. It would make a good sticky.

I think the last weekend of April works. I do like that we (as a group of 928 enthusiasts) are doing a better job of getting more events going and to spread the dates. I know from my own thread that having Sharks in the Badlands Jul 17-19th 2020 in the middle of summer helps. I have heard from quite a few folks that are coming for more than that weekend, just because they have not been to the midwest and seen Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, driven needles highway, and just explored the Badlands,

Just tossing this out there to keep in mind. For the East Coast 928ers, Hershey is usually around the third weekend in April. This event for most of us is the first big 928 event of the year. PA, NY, NJ, MD, VA, OH owners are in full force at this one.

And although not an exclusive 928 event. PVGP is mid July here in Pittsburgh. We have a few dedicated 928 owners that are always in attendance. In 2021, Porsche is the marque. We would love to see a big 928 turn out then, like we did a couple years ago.

Sounds great Harvey, are you planning for "Sharks in Badlands" be a one time or annual event ? I know Ed & Rick are pushing hard for the July, 2021 PVGP event in Pittsburgh so please take this into consideration.

Hi Rick, Yes the Hershey/Porsche Only Swap meet is slated for Apr 18, 2020 http://www.cpa-pca.org/swap/ That said what are the chances of getting the eastern crew to Springtoberfest the last weekend of Apr, 2020 ?

IIRC 3-4 of the early press cars (if Brian/olmann get's it together) will be on display and many more. All 928'rs should pen in the "PVGP 2021" (mid-July) event on there calenders.

Speaking of events I'd love it if we could pull off a National 928 Only Swap Meet. Because of the specific nature of it and the relative low numbers of attendees to something like Hershey, I'd forsee it only being held every 3 to 5 years or so in order to build up pressure/excitement. The goal would be to get a minimum of 400-500 cars there and about 1000+ attendees.

Everyone could clear out their hordes of parts from their garage, make a few bucks, and help save a few dreams. All of our friendly 928 suppliers could attend including Scheissco hopefully .

There could be tech sessions, multiple fun runs, DEs, car shows, and how bout this, even a live 928s only auction!

For sure it'd be a big task to undertake, but of all the car enthusiasts clubs out there, who more cable than the 928 community to be able to make this a reality?

^^Sounds like a big undertaking Nate and feel this deserves it's own thread Also trying to work between the event you mentioned^^: "All Porsche Day", the 3rd weekend in Apr, and "Sharks in the Park" the 1st weekend of May. I believe the two events^^are local/regional, one day events and should not affect S-Fest turnout or vice-versa...as long as they don't fall on the same weekend. T

The last weekend in April and the 1st weekend in May (for Sharks in the Park) sounds uncomfortably close together, especially since both events are California based.
