Parking or speeding tickets? No pictures of the car that show the plate? EZ Pass? Insurance company? Oil change shop?

Someone posted the same thing with slightly different details on reddit yesterday. Except, his was sold in 2014, not 1998 and had a BLACK exterior: https://www.reddit.com/r/Porsche/com..._exterior_red/

Hey I know this might be impossible or stupid but my dad used to own a 1985 Porsche 928s, it was a manual I believe had a black exterior and a red leather interior (could have been repainted or something), it was pre-owned before my dad bought it. My dad sold it in 2014, to a dealership (my mom told him to sell it when he was buying a new car) and he loved that car and kinda regrets it and he would like to at least know where its at and maybe buy it I don't know. So if anyone knows anything about it feel free to tell me thanks. (ya ik it is highly unlikely that I'm going to find it but still).

What are the odds?

If this is how the basic engine compartment appeared, that would be an '85 Euro. Organ pipe intake would be much more common.
Edit: Sorry to be captain Obvious. I wasn't gone from the thread that long, but it was long enough apparently that you guys had
already figured out that it was a Euro and moved well past that.

I have been 99% certain that it is a euro car. I remember when he bought it that it was a Gray Market car. Also all of the lights on the dash were in German. in fact the only thing not european about the car was the speedo was in MPH not KMH

According to my calculations, there were only 315 Euro cars imported to the US from 1985. Your father's car is one of those 315.

An '85 Euro 16V is going to have twin distributors, like so:

The rubstrips thing doesn't help because they're not listed in the options database for 85 Euro models, so the options database doesn't narrow it down below the 622 cars I mentioned above. The other options that _would_ help narrow down would pretty much require A) being in front of or under the car, and B) the optional equipment still being on the car.

Looking through the 928 Registry there are 3 possibilities that dont have a color listed. is anyone a member that could get the VINs?

A euro would have a side reflector behind the front wheel. On a non euro it would be in front of the front wheel if you have any pics that show a side or front angle view.

VIN's in order from your links above:

WP0ZZZ92ZFS840419
WP0ZZZ922FS841003
WP0ZZZ92ZFS841954

Note, likely none of the above are it, as the Registry ties those VINs to Australia. I think they'd be right hand drive?
