Default Virginia Beach Air and Auto Classic Show Pics

Met up with fellow Rennlister frugal928 for the 9th annual First Settlers PCA Air and Auto show. Big thanks to GeorgeM for organizing and hosting the show. We were the only 928s there, but they got a lot of attention. We both had a great time! Just thought I’d share some pics from the event.

Great show! Thanks for sharing. And I love seeing that purple GTS again. Where was George's beauty?

It was great to have a couple of Sharks there. Thanks to Andrew and Darryl for attending. Sorry I didn't have time to visit with you guys.

The GT was in the garage, as I'm usually too busy to bring a car. My pickup, overfilled with traffic cones, tents and paperwork is what I drive to the show.

I'll admit that I did get Pam to bring the GTI to get it some exposure. She even made me a For Sake sign for it. I had some interest, but no one with cash in hand.

This was our 9th show and probably the best, operationally and turnout-wise. We had 130 cars total, including our non-judged car corral, and a nicer variety due to some marketing I did at our local Shriners show a couple of months ago.

I'm still doing the math, but our charity proceeds will likely be pretty good this year as well.

Aside from a successful show, I experienced this milestone yesterday on the way to the shop for an alignment. I guess I can stop fretting over it now.

Most of our advertising is via flyers at shows and cruise-ins as well as our FB event pages. I've posted it here a few times over the years, but no Sharks ever showed up.

We took last year off and I've been threatening to stop altogether, as I've been unable to find someone to replace me as show chair, but maybe we'll make it an even 10 before calling it quits, unless someone steps up.

Although, our PCA region will be co-hosting PCA Treffen next September at The Greenbrier Resort in WV, so it's going to be a busy time (and not to be missed. Registration opens next June, I think, and will likely fill up within an few hours). Maybe we'll do Air & Auto Classic 10 in 2021... we'll see.

It's a fun show... great venue, food, beer/wine, live music... and all for charity. But, it's a hell of a lot of work as those of you who run these sorts of things well know.
