Default oil pressure springs ?

i could not find directly the purpose of those 2 big springs we have behind 2 plugs above the oil filter... are they pressure regulating ?

I just wonder if those springs are important and will fatigue with the years… they do not cost that much to renew. ( + a sealant washer of course )

You are correct, they are for pressure regulation. Replace the springs and crush washers. Worth your time.

thanks Seth for the "confirmation" … i already bought a new set but was wondering if this was not overkill.... but the oem's are already for "40" years compressed…..must do "something" … ???

I don’t think it is overkill. 40 years of thermal and pressure cycling will fatigue a spring.

I replaced both those springs in the Red Witch as a precaution.
