It's on my calendar....I'll be checking all the blood pressure (or is it back pressure) on the cats on my 928s before deciding which one to take. May even offer Tony a deal so I don't have to see him in a yellow Mustang. I know Curt and company are waiting for the movie trailer from the catalytic converter/ rescue and recovery novel I wrote after last year's event soon to be a movie!! Lol
If you haven't been to Camp 928 or If you are on the fence...go for it. Great people, amazing country and roads, and of course wonderful cars. Little cell service so I'll be donating walkie talkies to the event for the tours. Can't wait. Zach

Good to see the enthusiasm building. This is my second winter with my 928 without a winter project for it. That's good. All it really needs is the usual HVAC overhaul; I'm more likely to improve the goofball vacuum bypass than try to contort myself to do dashboard work.

A pole barn is in the planning stages behind the Clubhouse. I've got it mostly cleared with the excavator, but the site is too snowy to work on now. What was supposed to be a simple acquisition of an old John Deere Gator 6x4 has turned into a rescue/restoration. It will be a confidence builder for the Studebaker. I wish John Deere did not have such a firm lock-down on parts. There is no gatorsRus.com I can find. The local dealer owns a Unimog like mine, but is otherwise a greedy bastard.

Anyway, runs up to the cabin and other points of interest should be a lot easier with the Gator.

Those wishing to try out the excavator should study the ISO control pattern. Do some "air" excavation for practice. Were we discussing the bog at Watkins Glen earlier in this thread? To paraphrase, "If it don't move, bury it."

Found a place close by on Loon Lake thru Airbnb. Looking forward to it.

Excellent! It will be an honor to have you here, Rob.

I have a lot of projects to complete before June. Finished one yesterday, a sled for the local event of the year, the Krazy Sled Downhill Derby. Second place! I used the shells of the old Gator seats, sans upholstery - still deluxe in this class. It will be hanging up in the garage, like the Wright Flyer at the Smithsonian.

Alex VanD sent me a link to an interesting vehicle at auction. Perfect for emergencies at Camp 928? Go for it, Alex.

Very good, Dylan. I'll make sure you get a look at the cabin this time.

Beautiful day here today so I took my boys for a ride in the S4 (2nd drive of the season...on some of the Frenzy Fun Run roads). I have a slow coolant leak to hunt down. Can't get to it until the reseal job on the JD tractor motor is finished. Motor is back in and has held oil for two weeks without leaking - so far so good. Hoping to put the drive pulley, PTO, and drive belt on tomorrow so I can give the garage space back to the S4. I haven't decided if I'll replace the high pressure power steering hose before the trip, or wait to do it on one of Curt's lifts....I know which one my body wants to pick.

Will/should COVID-19 affect Camp 928? As of last week, I would have said no, for sure. This week I'm not so sure, though there has not been any "community" cases yet north of the NYC Metro area. Two non-community cases in Saratoga and a handful of self-quarantines in the area.

One sure way the event could be affected would be if Nancy or I got it. It could still be held - enough of you know the ropes. We live largely like hermits with a few exceptions, so we'll probably be OK. My major vulnerability is going to rehearsals. I think one group is already on the verge of suspending them. I am on the verge of suspending them for myself anyway.

Camp 928 is largely an outdoor event, which I understand makes transmission much less likely. Most of you would be traveling away from danger towards relative safety. Of course, the folks up here will hope you don't bring danger with you. It's a tourism economy, making for awkwardness. The motels and restaurants in Lake George are in a terrible situation - they rely on foreign workers and there won't be any, it seems.

But as of today, I think the right call is to not make a call. Standby...

A fine call. Let’s not turn this into another Coronovirus thread though.

Post a new coronavirus photo or stay out!

On a lighter subject: We're having Spring this year! I took the 928 out yesterday. Ran well after working out the flat spots in the tires. I had forgotten, though, that I have spongy brake lines to replace.

And the Gator is nearly finished and ready to ferry camping supplies. Yes, still have considerable snow cover here.

A bit of the "before". Aluminum rivets were put through a small hole in steel, but the holes got bigger over time. Damn electrons.

Thanks Curt. Stay healthy you (and Nancy!).

928 content: My beautiful newly plated throttle quadrant is in but on the first start the car idled at 2K. It's probably just a cable adjustment but I'm not ready for the run to Chestertown just yet. Dashboard reupholstery is underway in earnest. Just another set of spring to-dos and useful distractions.

I’m positive that your opinion of electrons shouldn’t be so negative. On the other hand, to put a better spin on things, maybe you can scare them back into their shells.

Got to the rental agency late and the choices were: 1) Dodge minivan 2) Mustang convertible. Quickly opted for the Mustang (without knowing the horrid color). People were thanking me for parking "it" behind building # 7(?) at Curt & Nancy's. So lets here the deal Zach^^....your early silver/pascha car or that blue MB 560 SEC will surely suffice.

There's only been bad news since my post nine days ago wondering about the impact from COVID-19. I saw the graph I've been waiting to see this morning:

Crap - there it is right on the graph, at the most likely peak - June 20. If we do a good job and follow the blue line, it means the same thing.

Pretty sure there can be no Camp 928 this year, even though we'll all be itching to get out. Damn virus.

Good luck, everyone.
