Awesome work, that is a metric ton of effort! Can't wait to see it in person at SF19.

What an excellent use of time and effort. The 928 community and myself say thanks for saving another 928 from the grip of death. She sure looks awful purty too.

Thanks! Haven't had it on a dyno yet, and I don't expect any huge numbers, but it sure feels nice.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I watched every second of the video. Major inspiration. I think the dyno might surprise to the upside. A 5.4L Euro S / Sharktuned LH 2.3 setup.. Wow!

Thanks Austin! The motor is all of Greg's creation. Him, Kyle and Jake get the credit for that. Greg and Jake built it, I installed it, Kyle tuned it. Swapping to the 2.3LH was also their preference when they couldn't get a fine-enough tune with the 2.2 system. Greg had to make some custom pieces for the 2.3 system to work with the 16V motor so as far as I know it's really a "one-off".

Thanks again for the compliments everyone. Looking forward to Sharktoberfest!

It's probably 'trade secret' territory, but I am curious how the compression ratio isn't somewhere north of 11:1.

Man, it's time for an avatar update! Maybe one of the split before/after variety.

Because one of the tops of the cylinders was damaged from corrosion, I had to either install one aluminum sleeve and keep the engine displacement stock or use the opportunity to do something different. We decided to put steel sleeves in the engine which allowed us to make a custom piston and use a longer stroke crankshaft, with off the shelf Porsche connecting rods.
I sent CP a mold of the combustion chamber, along with how many cc's were in the chamber. Told them what size the bore, the stroke, and the connecting rod length was. Told them the valve sizes and how deep I wanted the valve reliefs. Told them the size of the pin I wanted to use and what I wanted for compression. Told them what ring I wanted to use.
Presto, 8 weeks later, we had pistons with the correct valve reliefs in the correct position and depth, with the correct compression ratio.

Nothing to it....this stuff is easy!

It's badass!! Can't ever think of a 928 engine build more interesting, in my opinion. The largest original displacement with the best top end parts (2V guy here) AND fully optimized LH 2.3 for the win. Yep.. I'm jealous.
