Default 6E171 AC pulley Removal

87 s4 auto. Have the compressor on the bench for a re seal. Got the shaft
nut off but is there a trick the next step? I know there's a C clip under there eventually but the outer assembley has to come off first.

Just can't seem to wiggle it off and there is no room for a puller.

Which may be the same as the Park Tool crank arm puller I have for my bikes....have to run to my dads to steal it back. Looks close in size actually

Autozone should have it in their tool loner program. The puller is used for the 944 too on a 10P15E compressor

years ago I dissected my 6e171 to reseal it and the autozone/oreilly loaner tool worked fine.

Anyone BTDT and have any tips on removal of the black gasket on the reed plate.?.. That thing is tough. My plan is to just leave it soak in something while I work the next week.

You mean the gasket being stuck on? Lots of careful scraping when I did my compressor reseal.
