Default Odometer and Clock Repair Shop Recommendation

I've see a lot of extremely helpful threads on how to repair the (non-working) odometer in my 1980 928S Euro but would love to get some recommendations of who I can send it out to for the repair to be done, that along with the non-working analog clock? I'm located North of Boston (and close to southern NH) if any one has east coast recommendations but can always ship it anywhere in the US for repair.
I'd love to tackle the job myself after reading all the incredibly detailed step by step instructions posted on this forum but with the pull of family and work at the moment I'm afraid I'd get halfway thru the project and leave on my work bench for 6 months or longer and by the time I got back to it forget what step I was on!

Thanks.

Search out North Hollywood Speedometer. They do it regularly and ship all over the world.

Palo Alto speedometer fixed my analog clock while no one else was able. at $350, it was not cheap, but it works and keeps great time. about 10 years ago they restored a speedo and tach from an older Mercedes and both are still working properly.

Truthfully, I had to quit using these people. About 25% of the odo repairs they did had to be redone. They would "flat rate" a new gear in and send it back. That works great, if the gear is the only issue, but if the odo is dry and binds up, the gear won't fix it. I sent a 911 speedo to them....6 times! It would run for about 2 miles and quit. If you tapped on the gauge, it would start up and work again for a couple of miles....obviously a loose connection/contact somewhere. They would get it, test it for .2 miles, and send it back....no matter what I told them. The "repair guy in the back" actually got so mad at the thing coming back, he hung up on me, one day. I finally grabbed a used speedo off of my shelf, changed the internal circuit board myself, to fix the problem.

No more!

None of the steps are that involved get the pod out, stop as long as you need, replace the gear, stop as long as you need, put the pod back. Couple of hours tops for each step. Just do it.

Overseas Speedometer in Texas does a fantastic job at 70% $ of the others. I haven’t had work done in a couple years and do not have contact information handy but they were on the web. Overseas was recommended by a local import repair shop. Glad I set my cluster to them. If I remember correctly, they checked the entire cluster for basic operation which was included with the speedo/odometer repair.

Thanks (everyone) for the advice and recommendations. I'll check into each of the recommendations and let you know how the job comes out.

I used them with excellent results a few years back on my 85 odometer. Sent the whole unit and they sent it back repaired. I'm guessing they could fix the clock too, but call and ask. Reasonable price as well.

Thanks. I will reach out to specialty gauge also. Have already reached out to Palo Alto Speedo and gotten an estimate back. Not cheap right off the bat.

Thanks again for all the recommendations. I've reached out to all three and getting estimates before I make a choice. I'll update everyone once I get the work finished.

Overseas Speedometer replaced the odometer gear in my 86.5 in 2001 for $108. It lasted 11 years before the gear broke apart again. The 2nd time, in 2012, I replaced it myself with a gear from Roger and the help of Jim D., a local 928 owner and clock repair specialist. It's still going.
