Default 928 next to MB sedan pictures

I did visit with Mike H in Dallas this week, I did assist him doing a little work on his 928's and we took some pictures of his 928 collection and the new to me V12 Bi-Turbo S65 AMG MB

He is planning to sell all his 928's apart from his beloved "Stallion" and is considering to get a nice SL55 AMG MB

Hereby a few pictures

Funny you should make that joke, as I was thinking today that what kept putting me off a 928 was that they were as boring to drive as a Mercedes and they were widely unworthy of the Porsche badge.

Nice collection of 928s.

Looks like the hood on the 4451 license plate car needs some adjustment if possible.

All in all, I think a lot of the new MBs are good looking. I don't follow the brand. But, there was a time, when it seemed like BMWs were so much better looking. In any case, they seemed to have gotten ahead in the looks department lately too me any way.

Now, what I couldn't figure out about the pics was: is there a specfic reason why you took these comparison fotos? Those specific models seem to be rather apples and oranges to compare. But maybe I am missing something obvious?

Here is my wife’s SL500 next to my GT, quite similar in size (unfortunately not a SL55!)

Quite similar in size

If you can find an MB S65 cab in Belgium take a ride and if you do have S65 as a taxi. I'll have to change my opinion about the country, last I heard is that every policeman is accompanied by a dog as two heads is better than one. (sorry about the joke here)!

Perhaps after you get an opportunity to drive an MB S65 you might change your opinion. The people that turned me on to the V12 MB and SL55 are Mark Anderson and Roger Tyson, do you know them?

He just had not closed it yet!

No specific reason just visiting an old friend hat I used to mentor during my 928 days and letting others know that he is planning to sell some of his car (BTW managed to get the AC fixed on one of his cars during the visit)

You are in the know! Another tip I got from Mark Anderson try to find an SL55 with the P30 option! and yes I did!

The pictures where taken just to commemorate the visit after many years of ownership of a 928 GTS I still like them and think they are spectacular cars. If you get an opportunity to drive an MB V12 you'll realize the advancement in technology/performance and my experience is if you have the benefit of owning a MB SDS (Star Diagnostic System) they are easier to diagnose for a D.I.Y owner like myself .
than a 928.

BTW: We're planning on bringing a SL55 and a V12 Bi-Turbo to 3rd coast

Best H

The V12 biturbo will run away and hide from a GTS all day everyday and gobble miles like they're an elephant snacking on peanuts...

My GTS is nostalgic and has sentimental value which the V12 biturbo does not have for me as I have no sentiments about it. It's an effective sledgehammer, well built and very effective.

I've driven one to 200mph. Well officially 199.7mph if you have to be precise with the radar.

It's a huge car, but it's effortless and very comfortable. I prefer the CL to the S, which is what I've driven, but I imagine the sedan is similar.

You can't compare performance to a 928, the V12 tech and power band will just flat out leave a 928 in the last decade.

They also have those really cool heated and cooled seats with massage and active corner bolstering that's pretty slick
