Are they MOSFAT Amps? What is the RMS rating?
I assume they're MOSFETs, but that's way above my paygrade. RMS output is 4x24 watts at 4 ohms, but there's no THD spec listed.

Proper 4 volt RCA outs 👏👏👏👏, that alone makes it worth it over the continentals. Please post a review when you have it installed! Thanks for the pictures too!

Here is the wiring harness for the unit that I got. I got the harnesses (Audio and Power) separately from BergvillFX in Norway. Just had to connect the Pre Amp Power (Blue Wire on the DIN-8) to Port 5 on the ISO (Also Blue Wire) which connects to the Ant. Amp Power which I think is the right wiring for the Pre Amp out. I will try to get the radio installed tomorrow.

On second inspection, I think I made an error. Looking at the 87 WSM, it seems that the connection at the old radio is a 5 pins (power) and the link between the head unit and the Amp is switched power which would be Port 4 ISO. I have bought an additional power harness from Porsche Classic that has the 5 wiring installed. Will rewire tomorrow.

Any confirmation from anyone? Thoughts?

Just what I need to connect the new headunit to the old amp... Excellent!

Ok got it working after hacking the wiring connections a little. Here is the correct ISO connectivity mapping:

1- Not Used
2- Not Used
3- Not Used
4- +12V Constant (Yellow)
5- Antenna Amp (Blue)
6- Dial Light Illumination (Orange)
7- +12V Switched Power (Red)
8- Ground (Black)

This plug is available from Porsche Classic, part number 91164240000

As for the RCA Connection from BergvillFX, It worked, thought I had to guess which plug went to which RCA port... The Bremen SQR 46 DAB has 4 RCA FL/FR/RL/RR so had to try one at a time. Fittings are excellent and the quality is superb. The Blue Wire from the DIN 8 -> RCA is connected to Port 7 on the ISO plug (Red Wire).

Got the radio up and running and I am happy so far with everything it offers as well as its build quality.

Alan,

Thank you for your support with the wiring and feedback.

I can highly recommend it so far. The material/technology and workmanship is really top notch and in all reality, I think its layout and functionality are way better than the other DIN size offering and it makes way more sense than the Porsche Classic Radio with the puny screen for navigation and whatnot. This maintains the cars period correct with the plus of modern functionality.

That looks great!

Have you tried any other colours for the display?

The colors are fully customizable allowing you to set by adjusting 3 parameters (Red/Green/Blue) and I manipulated them till getting the color of choice - very easy. I kept iit as close to stock color (Orange) as possible.

Perfect!

What speakers are you using? Did I see you are using the original power amp?

My car is running the 6 way Blaupunkt amp from the 89- models and running factory speakers in the front with Infinity (cant remember Kappa or Reference in the stock 89- enclosures in the rear. All wiring is stock.

Very cool, how does it all sound?

I pre-wired mine about three years ago and still haven't finished it...!

I hear you on the never ending projects :-D

It sounds quite good for a mostly stock system (speakers/amps/no sub)... not a B&O setting by far, but a pleasant system nonetheless. Has a lot of adjustments I am yet to explore...
