My car is an 85 US auto with open diff. I would like to install an (auto) LSD that came out of an 85 Euro/Row. Did all 85 RoWs have ABS standard? My car doesn't have ABS. I know the half shafts are different and the gear ratio is different. Anything else?
Thanks

My understanding was abs became standard for german market 928 in 84. Mine had it. Maybe row cars for other markets didn't, I don't know.
In USA it was optional from 84 thru 85. 86 USA had abs. 86.5 USA had abs with less teeth on hubs different contoller.
Retifittig abs into non abs car is very difficult.
But trans swap is ok. I think ratio is same, but euro version has a torque converter with a little bit higher stall. . And abs halfshafts are ok to use in your non abs car, whether they are fine tooth or fewer tooth later version. Interchangeable. I've done it.

Euro gear ratios are much lower than US. The "Swiss" ratios are even lower.
This will change the entire personality of your car.

The LSD units are the same. The transmissions however have much shorter gears in the Euro variants via gear ratios and final drive, they make the car more....lively

My understanding (and I could be wrong) was that ABS was optional in 84 & 85. It became standard on 86 Euro (RoW) cars and the 86.5 US (still optional for the "86.0" cars in the US).
