Awesome effort!

Your dedication and thoughtful planning are simply amazing.

Arrived yesterday at Bonneville. They had a sudden thunderstorm douse the place on Thursday night. All racing has been put back 1 or 2 days. Its so wet, I just left The Meg in the trailer until it dries up a bit. Hope to race Monday or Tuesday.

Oh boy. Hope this isn't a reboot of the last attempt that got rained out. How's the forecast?

All the best, Carl! Following this as closely as I can. VERY exciting, and your commitment is becoming legendary.

Here is a few pics of Lance (my Crew Chief) and I staring at the slush and contemplating our options.

Some guys were taking their race cars through tech, and others kept them locked in the trailer and away from the salt. I did that. We are roughing it at a nice hotel in Salt Lake City while we wait for the salt to the dry. I'm going back out tomorrow (Sunday) to check on the course, and may get the Meg out of the trailer and take it through tech. We hope to be racing Monday or Tuesday. The humidity is 10% or less, and we hope it dries fast. Fingers crossed.

The weather satilite picture shows you at what is probably the front of a dry sky extending West over Nevada, most of California and out into the Pacific. If it follows the usual Easterly, North Easterly course you ought to have clear dry weather for two or three days or so. Good luck with your effort.

I find this site to be very accurate- real time with actual percipition , wind directions etc -use choices on the left to switch- wind speed is on the right. Put in Wendover Utah in the search bar. Click on the calendar to see future dates- looks dry all week

The salt was better today, but still gooey. Racing has now been rescheduled for Tuesday. Good time to reconnect with old friends, drink a beer, and do some bench racing.

I will be taking the Meg through tech today (Monday) and hope to race Tuesday.

Good luck this has been the wettest summer I can remember in a long time. The grass is greener then I've ever seen and the trees are loving it. The down side is many events have been rained out. As Jerry mentioned, the weather looks good for a few days, but this can change in an instant.

Shucks, Carl. I thought we might hear something from you by now about how today went - - whether you raced or not and if so, how did it go.
