Perhaps coincidental, but my drivers side rear side light keeps going out. I replaced it and it worked but then it didn’t.
Your previous post (here) said the sensors were all original to the car, but they now replaced-- correct?

They are simple devices, a loop of wire in a plastic fitting that fits into the pad backing plate. When the pad gets thin, the edge of the rotor chews through the plastic and wire, and opens the circuit. You can see this clearly on the sensor, or check it with a multimeter on the ohms or continuity-test setting. There can also be a wiring fault in the harness but if the warning light first came on with a worn pad, and you replaced that sensor. then it is probably a connection problem at that corner. Or whatever corner you last touched.

The pad-wear sensors are all connected in series i.e. a daisy-chain back to the dash.

What year car? Do you have the wiring diagrams?

Driver's-rear marker light is only an issue on '89+ cars with a PSD, where the pump assembly in the rear quarter renders the marker-light mostly inaccessible.

As per previous post, you need to electrically check the circuits rather than replacing parts. It's probably corroded connectors causing both issues.

That drivers side marker is giving me another idiot light, “tail” light on the pod. I changed all of the bulbs in the back of the car, using Rennlist documented bulb numbers, but that one bulb, now a 5008, just wont stay working.
Get out the Workshop Service Manual (WSM), paper or CD or download doesn't matter. Find the '87 wiring diagrams (section 97), page 4 "Instruments and indicators". In the middle is the "Central Information" (CI) box. From pin-20 a brown-black wire connects to left-front sensor, then a loop through the CE panel to the right-front, then through the CE panel again to left-rear, right-rear and then to pin-12 of the CI box via a harness connector. Unless rats have gotten to the harnesses, the most likely problem is at one of the sensor connectors at the wheel. Corrosion at any of them will break the loop and cause the warning light, clean any visible corrosion and then spray it with Deoxit.

Same with the rear marker light, most likely corrosion in the light socket. Clean any visible corrosion and treat it with Deoxit. Also make sure the rubber boot is in good condition, lots of water back there in the rain.

Once when doing a major on the brakes, I accidentally plugged the sensor into the unused hole in a barrel connector. It's an easy mistake even this caveman can make. Easy to diagnose with a small mirror. Look up in the bottom of the barrel, and if you see wire terminals in any of them it means something is plugged in wrong.
