Hi Loring and my Fellow Sharksters,
I have the photos Loring sent...just need to figure out how to upload them.
I also have asked him to provide us with the Option Codes from his EuroShark. If anyone here is facile with uploading photos drop me a line and I'll forward the photos to you instead. Afterall, I gotta get some "work" done around here to justify my paycheck, right![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Best,
Tim

Don't you mean a 928S4? Can you share the engine number (found on a horizontal piece of the engine block to the left of and below the oil filler spout) with us? It'll be 28/xx. Lots of people here would love to know what "xx" is.
Thanks,
Mark.

Shane,
Thanks. I figured out how to post the photos...so here they are. I hope we can get some more of the interior (leather dash!), a few of the engine bay, etc. However, these will do for starters. Meanwhile, we await engine information (s/n), and option codes.
Best,
Tim

Just a 5sp I believe. Shifter is too tall and doesn't have dual exhaust tips like the GT's. Nice color though! Nice platform since it doesn't have the US front marker lights.

Curious why the instrument POD is not the same color as the dash. Aren't they usually coordinated? Perhaps the leather on the original POD needed repair/replacement and the black POD was substituted instead....

This is a 1989 manual Euro S4.
The gear lever is longer than a GT one.
The exhaust has a single outlet.
1989 is the only model year in which S4's were available in manual transmission AND with a digital dash.
The engine should be a M28/41 81K.
I assume the pictures were taken in Europe (Germany?).
I'm almost sure the Renault Clio was never sold in the USA![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

with a Euro vin number ZZZ that car could not be registered in California and I am not aware of ANY federal exemptions for emissions / cat convertor for a street use car . Part of the federalization includes H-5 headlights , dash in English , USA legal sidemarkers added in front of front wheel behind rear wheel . speedo and odometer in Miles . The cost for federalization is typically thousands of dollars ; I suspect that the motivation for selling might just be to PAY that bill ..........

Plastic piece at side of front seat back is other part that is black on rarer color car. Sweanders car is perfect example of this. It has almost every option imaginable yet this piece is standard black. Porsche made maybe 5 or 6 different basic interiors on any given year where almost all parts other than ***** and such are same color.

My '91 ZZZ car was imported from Germany in '95. According to the PO, it cost him $4500 plus freight and duties.
He presented the EPA with a document from Porsche stating that the cat for Germany was the same as the cat for the US. That was enough for them. He had to pass emissions in Florida for a few years, which the car did, but they don't do the emissions test in Florida any more.
For DOT purposes, the side marker lights were added, the integrated rear fog light was disabled, the headlight trimmer unit was disabled and the cluster face was changed to Imperial units. Just the cluster face. According to the PO, the importer stated that the language of the digital display was not required to be put into english or imperial units (my odo reads kms), so he left his in German and metric. They also had to add the side impact protection in the doors. The car passed DOT.
On lights, they left the german spec driving lights, but the headlight lenses were changed.
I have since figured out with the help of Rennlist how to change the digital display language to english, but have yet figured out how to change the digital readout to imperial units of measure. I just wish that the importer would have ordered the dash face plate from a manual car. I am tired of looking at PRND32 on my GT.
