Default 1989 Dash rebuild.

I have, what appears to be a glitch in my digital dash in my 89 S4. It throws a code that I have inquired about previously on this forum (code TYP04-6). I have explored every option that I can think of, including cleaning all of the grounds, installing a new battery, had the computer checkout, etc. I think that my final resort is to have my instrument panel rebuilt. Does anyone out there do this or know of someone that has done this before?

I don't know about specifically this type of 928 dash, but Palo Alto Speedometer rebuilds many types of dashes. Maybe check with them.

Have you checked the seating of the four instrument panel connectors? They "snap" into place when seated properly. That code is the firmware version and usually pops up with a low voltage (battery) issue. I would remove the instrument panel bolts so you can get behind the panel and remove and reseat the connectors. You may have corroded connection.
