It doesn't have to be fancy - just plumbing to the right places and an easy access port you can plug the extinguisher into.

When the engine is out is a perfect time (if you've planned/measured ahead) - but it's easily possible to do with the engine in place too. I installed something like this in my car years ago for peace of mind.

After a big flood in my kitchen (and a week of non-stop blowers and dehumidifiers running, 2 months of reconstruction and $$$$) - I installed a water-sensor & auto water shutoff system so I could be sure it never happens again - even once was too many times. Similar idea here but manually controlled - cars are usually safe when you aren't driving them.

I considered getting a Halon extinguisher, but they are banned here in Europe...

Also I dont drive the car a lot, so I just need to remember to check everything very very good before taking it out.

To my understanding Halotron (not Halon) IS actually available in Europe. Halotron works essentially the same way - but you just need a larger volume (~2x) for the same total effectiveness.
Given how effective even Halotron is in small bursts - I don't think that is a major problem (e.g. 2.5Lb size is OK).

But - if you go with the option of not using it much - then you risk goes down just based on usage. And at least you know all hoses are new (I'm assuming that you've changed out all fuel & PS hoses)

Yep, all lines, gaskets, rubber pieces, everything is new. So should be good for another 30 years or so
