With another change of life for me, I find myself in Florida at a new job and living where the 928 can't be. It has been patiently waiting for me to get back to it, but just not going to happen, so it is with regret that Bruce is for sale. Many of you know the car as I went through it and documented my projects over the years, and it has been a great challenge. But life moves on.....
"Bruce" is a 1980 928 Euro S with 3 speed auto, approximately 187,000km on it, no sunroof, manual seats in black leather, VIN 92A0820533. See the thread links below for a history of the work I did on the car. I was not aimed at making it original, but something more unique and would work for us.
Bruce runs and drives, but needs several things to be finished. Carpeting, finish the stereo install, add AC compressor and charge the system, get the MegaSquirt tuned better, adjust the trans linkage, get a professional alignment and new tires, replace the timing belt and water pump are the things I can think of. I can say there will be only the tiniest amount of dirt hiding somewhere in the car - no corner has been untouched! All the suspension is detailed and the bushings are new, Bilsteins all around, new brake pads, solid steering rack bushings, new wheel bearings, the list goes on.... It was an extremely detailed teardown, clean, paint, plating, rebuild, replace, renew process that started in Oct, 2010 and is still not finished. I hate knowing the car is just sitting there - it needs to be driven! Also included are all my photos from the years, some 928 spares either as parts or experimental subjects, extra MegaSquirt brackets and pieces (I would usually make 2 of everything), extras of my 2X DIN bracket parts, and my whole 3 **** HVAC project inventory with design files and code, and test rigs.
I drove Bruce on Easter weekend 3 weeks ago, and no problems from the winter storage. He just needs someone to put the time in to finish the details, something I can't do anymore. Wow, I always remember reading your threads with great admiration as I always wanted to tear down and rebuild my car like you but I never had the time or ability. We even met a couple of times at our Sharks in Ontario events as well, but unfortunately I never got to see your car on the road. I'm sure that the next owner will be getting a heck of a car! GLWS.

I can’t say enough about the talent, detail and untold hours that went into rebuilding this car. It was truly a labor of love from the best mind and hands. This is a smoking deal on a great car. I think everything is there if you wanted to put the engine fuel system back to stock. It is like a new car considering all the work that went into it. Thanks for the props Gunar. To be clear, the engine parts to return to stock are keeping others on the road, so will take some searching if someone wanted to go that way (or maybe someone has the parts looking for a car to put them in?).
Thanks for the props guys. I'll be back in Ontario at Christmas time, so if the roads are clean I hope to take a drive just to get it moving for a while.
