Well... it depends upon exactly what it is, doesn't it?

If it's an 81 non-S US-spec auto that's been stored in a salty swamp, it's not going to be a collectable.

If it's a paint-to-sample no-sunroof '95 5-speed, then it probably could be, even if stored in a salty swamp.

Had a seller try to " learn " me about the porch 928, he was a wealth of useful information, like the 928 meant it was an 8 cylinder 924 and 944 = 4 cyl. But essentially the same car.

"Well sorted" (when it's not)

"Only driven to church" (church can be seen on a distant mountain top...)

"Belonged to my elderly father" (before he was arrested for running moonshine...)

Joe’s shop is too expensive. I’ve heard that a shop on the other side of Boston quoted $400...

(God please, oh please never send me a 928 last serviced by Joe or Joe’s cheaper cousin.)

Got an 86.5 that had the belt job done last year (supposedly a good shop in Austin), owner couldn't get in to me on his timeline and they did the belt alright. But failed to do the pump (failing) rebuild the tensioner (belt was loose), forgot the circlip, cam and oil gears were trashed and still charged him a ton.

This same "Porsche" shop charged a ton to a rennlister for a clutch job and installed all new upgraded clutch parts............................on a mid 1994 build car.

'Cuz if I do it, you won't have to have it redone in a few months.

Or have to have your valves replaced when the belt lets go.

928s are totally collectible. I've been collecting spare parts for years.

Wha-Da-Ya-Mean the engine is in the front? Every body knows Porsches have the motor in the back! That can't be a real Porsche!

&

Key is in the wrong place!

Hey! What do you have against 81 autos? They're the most reliable as there is the least amount of **** to go wrong lol.
