" I've never worked on one of these Porsche's in particular, but I'm sure I can figure out the problem?"

In order so far,
#1 Ran great when parked
#2 Recent timing belt change
#3 A/C just needs a recharge

I will note though that only #2 is really 928 specific.

This classic Porsche is a rare find. Price is right — even if you just needed it for parts

(Actually from another ad today...wow!)

Not a common one, but I was told by the PO of my 85: "The 928 uses a non-pressurized engine cooling system"

The backstory: when looking the car over, I noted that there was a spraypaint can cover over the top of the windshield washer reservoir. The PO said "oh, yeah... the radiator cap is missing (mind you, i had just test driven the car for about 20-30 minutes and it obviously had some issues, but overheating wasn't one of them). When I said "I don't think that's the radiator" He said, "Oh, it is. The 928 uses a non-pressurized engine cooling system". Apparently, the Germans had figured out a way to bypass the laws of thermo-dynamics back in the mid-80's.

He also started bragging about the car being a 16 valve-engine while I was staring at the plenum that stated 32V. He was actually a nice enough guy, but didn't know s*** about cars and had only had the car for about 9 months. My assumption is that the car was obviously not running perfect and the quote to repair everything must've been too high for his tastes. He effectively sold it to me for a loss. Since I wanted a project to keep me busy (understatement of the decade, by the way) i bought the car for pretty cheap and have been having "fun" fixing it up ever since.

If nothing else, I've learned a LOT.
