I'm sure WT floor mats are very good, or they would not be so successful. Mine were good, but not great. My comment was in response to laser measuring being the best way to provide templates for these floor mats. I only meant that the laser technique does not always guarantee perfect outcome. I would trust careful hand measuring for this project.
Thanks,
Dave

Is that the one that had the tile work on the rear bumper cover?

I completely agree- for example, if a part was produced by CNC machining that only means it was produced according to spec, but the spec itself may not have been correct. I was only adding another data point, just as I assume you were.

My weekend is almost over...no sample yet, but I’ll get something up this week. Re-dying leather with Colorplus

Here is a basic mock up about 70% covered. I have to be out of town till Saturday, but wanted comments on where you wanted termination points and seams. I’m running under the carpet side panels on my 86.5 by about 1/2 or so. This is just a test run. Needs to go farther forward under the fire wall and pedals still. I’m going to pull my car up this weekend for reference and tighten it up. Just want to known this is the right direction.

Hi Guys,
I got my mats for my wife's 2003 Cadillac. Overall impression is 3 stars out of 5, primarily for

imperfect fit. First, they are folded into a bundle, so they have severe creasing during shipment. I put them in the sun for a few hours, and maybe they got a little better. The materials look as good as you would expect. They are decent looking medium weight vinyl, with a backing material. They are well sewn, and appear to follow a pattern very carefully. I decided to try installing them. They depend on fitting behind threshold trim and other trim for fixation. That said the fit is only fair. The rear mat fits better on one side than the other. The front mats are similar. The passenger side fits pretty well, but the driver's side does not fit under the front edge of the seat very well. That means it lifts forward whenever the seat moves forward.
All this being said, they are very nice looking mats, and have a nice feel under foot. My wife thinks they look great, but she is not as picky about these things as I am. The beige color is just slightly more yellowish tan than the beige in my GM car.
Conclusion:
These could be nice, if fit is well done. I think this may take one or two attempts to get it right. The 928 has trim that should hold the mats in place just fine. It all comes down to fit.
Good luck,
Dave

BTW, I will provide followup comments relating to wear, shifting, water resistance, etc. over the next few weeks.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi guys,
After 4 months or so, I am getting rid of these floor mats. They just look sloppy. The edges curl and fold, they remain wrinkled, and don't really stay in place very well. They look thin and cheap, and I can't imagine them holding up to any kind of abuse. Others may have better luck than I.
I am ordering Lloyds "Luxe" mats in gray 777 with Cadillac logo.
I know these will look great and probably outlast me.
Good luck,
Dave

I was able to finally find a vendor that makes these for the 928.

Not bad at all. The rear mats need some finagling to get them to fit correctly.

Randy, who has the stitched diamond mat pattern for the 928 and what colors are available for base mat and stitching?

Thanks.

Hi Randy.
I agree your mat arrangement looks pretty good. The carpet mats will help keep the shape of the vinyl mats. My experience is that the unsupported side wall of the vinyl mats will slump over time. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. I personally think good carpet mats look better.
Good luck,
Dave

Dave and Randy, were the mats in the 928 and the Caddy from the same vendor? Dave's look more wrinkly and thinner vs Randy's that looked thicker.

The ones in my Cayenne are thick, awesome, and hold their shape perfectly, but they're from a company called Autopreme that is no longer in business.

I think mine are from the vendor linked in this thread somewhere. They are kind of mediocre.
Thanks,
Dave
