Bummer, '85 or '86 5-speed? Is that at some insurance auction yard?

So what we know is that the fire reached the temperature at which aluminum melts. But it did not reach the temperature at which steel melts.

I'm in awe. I can tell that it's a DD-clutch 928. Hmmm.... and I guess since it has two coils it must be either an S3 32v or a twin-dizzy 16v. But, couldn't it be an '84 RoW as well as an '85-'86?

Have to confess I hadn't thought about '84 ROW, was focused on the exhaust manifolds and the dual coils. But there's also the polyrib alternator pulley- was that an '84 thing or an '85+ thing?

EDIT- polyrib belt started in '82, wouldn't have guessed that either. Back to studying PET.

That's what the 356 crowd would say. And then they would do it.

Wonder how it got hot enough to melt the block. It not like its a mag block or anything. Maybe just the oil going up? Maybe the fuel pump kept running? Maybe it was in a building fire?
