Hello...just signed up. Picked up an 82’ 928 5spd work in progress. Hopefully will be able to ask a few questions along the way as this is my 1st Porsche and am excited about the prospect of what could be. 👍

Welcome to Rennlist!
You've discovered perhaps the best support network for 928 owners and enthusiasts. That includes many of us who started out as you are, with a car that deserves more attention than it's received in the past. Plus a personal passion for great cars. Just about anything you find or need help on has been found or helped by others here. You get to walk in the steps of others, something that will dramatically soften smooth your "learning curve".
Start out with a cruise through the "New Visitors" thread in the sticky section at the top. It's a compilation of virtually all the questions for both new and experienced owners. There are links to other tips pages too. It's a wealth of pointers that will make your experience a LOT more pleasant.
No welcome from a moderator would be complete without the recommendation that you invest in Rennlist Membership. Piad membership gives you access to non-Porsche content that may or may not be important to you. It allows you to post "want to buy" and "for sale" threads. It cleans up some embedded advertising in threads, a feature that alone makes the investment worthwhile. Membership lets you build a "signature" section included at the end of every post you make. It will save you the need to type the critical info there including the year/model of your car, something that needs to be in EVERY POST YOU MAKE so that group members can offer you the specific guidance you need. Click on the "Membership" tab in the top bar on forum pages, and you'll be quickly on your way to membership.
Again, welcome aboard!

Welcome. At least you were smart enough to post a pic.
We do, however, need more of them.
You have found the friendliest, most helpful and most knowledgeable place for these cars.
Anything you need to know is here. Somewhere.
If you get confused or stumped, ask.
Read through the "New Visitor" sticky. It will answer a lot of questions. Download a copy of the owner's manual, PET (parts catalog) and the Work Shop Manual. They are all available through links in the New Visitor sticky. There's also a really comprehensive version available on CD-ROM for $75 from Roger at 928s R Us. Full WSM, all the tech specs, updates and a lot more. If you are planning on doing your own work, you need these.
Search at least some before you post a question. If you say "I searched around, but couldn't find what I needed", it shows you aren't just throwing out questions, expecting everyone else to do your work for you. If you don't decide to become a member (it's not a requirement), make sure you include your year in every 'question thread' you start. There are some differences from year to year, especially in the electrical & fuel injection systems, that make that important.
Lots of owners in the Toronto area, you will have friends to call for help. They do get-togethers every so often.
