Which route for more power?

Well..thats just it.
With a torque tube, the whole car is the torque 'member' so to speak.
Its not a front -vs- rear twist of the chassis where the trans mounts and rear links are fighting the front of the car.
Its tied together front to rear...the forces are in the mounts and rear links directly pushing the chassis forward.
There is no rear twist of the chassis...and no Hp/Torque practical limit the way you believe there is.

Increase the torque enough, and the engine and TTube will wind up some upon launch. It will apply torque to the frame through the motor mounts, just like all the other cars out there that are front engine and rear wheel drive. Only a convertible does not have the A, B, and C pillars of a coupe to help prevent the body/frame from twisting.
Ridiculous photos of frame twist on launch added for effect I know these two pics are not of torque-tube cars, but believe me, they twist just the same. Maybe less, but just the same. When my 928 racer was running 900 HP, I could watch my shifter move to the right as I throttled on, and come back when I left off the throttle. And that car has a 8 point roll cage! Lots of torque and big Hoosier slicks.

The pursuit of more power ends when you can leave two black stripes from the last corner's exit to the next corner's entrance.
Right now, I'm leaning heavily toward Carl's stage 3 kit. I'll explore all of the other options to make sure that there are no regrets or doubts on my part, but that's my inclination right now. I'll give the other recommendations a call to see where those lead.
I also really like the idea of doing the corvette transaxle swap. I think that I'll wait a bit to see how things go with just the supercharger first.
Like others, I've found Carl to be very responsive to inquiries. That's a big factor for me.
Thanks again for everyone's input. It's very helpful. And that 928 Cabriolet....you really can't top that! Very nice work to bring that up to snuff.

Here is a nice video of the Stage III kit that allows you to see and hear it driven. Breaking the tires free in 1st and 2nd gear with nothing but throttle is a given.
On this car, my tired 928 GT with 216,000 miles on it, we got 607 HP at the motor. Your results may be better.

Would you believe that the pun was completely unintentional?
The twin screw setup is awesome. And if it is ready when I am ready to buy, I'll give it serious consideration.

Ok, so it would be pretty close to how mine would sound with your setup. I've got a cross pipe and RMB. I played the video a couple of times and it's very tempting!
