Default 928 S4 - Looking for Support in Atlanta Area

I'm looking for a mechanic in the Atlanta area who has experience working on 928's. I need routine timing belt change and have a few electrical issues I'd like addressed. I have an 89 S4 with 70 K miles.

Welcome to Rennlist!

There are more than a few folks in the Atlanta area who can guide you I'm sure. I'm going to edit the thread title to include more of your theme.

Welcome. I’m on the south side of ATL and am also looking for a local specialist to lean on. I assume Cali Auto in Stockbridge is probably a solid choice even for a 928?...

Hopefully others chime in to help you out.

What about Rich at Garage 928 in Alpharetta. I've not personally used them though.

User "Kevin in Atlanta" can probably steer you in a solid direction, though he's so capable, he may not farm anything out and does it all himself.

Good luck.

We have sold products to the following Atlanta area based Shops:

1. German Car Repair, 6070 Atlanta Highway, Alpharetta, GA 770-649-8700, Alan Kidson - Shop Owner. One of their technicians is a 928 owner who just completed a restoration on his 928.

2. European Classics, Inc., 2644 Steve Drive, Suite B, Atlanta, GA 770-409-9156, Dannon Wright - Shop Owner with his father. Wright Sr. knows 928s very well from our conversations.

Disclaimer: We have no financial arrangement with either of the shops and have not used them ourselves.

HTH,
Constantine

Thanks for the mention - I do take in other peoples 928's for work, but I am very picky. I use a 20 page questionnaire to determine their worthiness. :-)

Are you interviewing and qualifying the cars, or the owners? Just checking...

As bizarre as this might sound, I would suggest you join and ask your local PCA, assuming they're on social media. Yes, you definitely want someone who knows 928s and preferably someone folks have had a good experience with. I'm on the hunt locally for a 924/944 specialist in Jacksonville and my PCA has been an exceptional resource.

I have called and emailed the most qualified in my pursuit and am moving on down the list. I don't know anything about Garage 928 and I'd encourage you to use Social Media to check out ANY shop

Good Luck!

I'm going to Atlanta area in a few weeks to deliver to a customer a custom made 928 Dolly which has hosted my 1981 chassis for a few months now. I am possibly making another one for a customer in Ohio which if he commits I will make one and take to northern GA when I meet another pal of mine who also does Media Blasting. If any of you Atlanta folks want one, email me don@drblast.com and we can discuss and get this rolling, I do have room for at least 2, perhaps 3. I do not deliver these things on my dime, I have a special deal with the customer in Atlanta whereas he has something we are trading for, so, if you want one of these valuable tools this is an opportunity which won't cost any deliver fees in case anyone is interested.

See other threads. “Avoid at all Costs” is what people have said of Garage 928. And I have yet to meet any one at the local PCA who recommends him.
