Barrett Jackson 1/16/19 94 GTS Sold
Was anybody watching? Last night a 94 GTS Black on tan Automatic went through the auction. Buyer paid 66000. I didn't here them say the miles or transmission. I went on line and found out it was an Auto. Here's a link.

B-J is the last auction house I would bring a 928 too. It's all glitz and glamour. The first couple years with Alain de Cadenet at least had some consistency to the car chatter.
They cannot even keep the domestic stuff straight. I lost count of how many erroneous errors they spoke about with just Corvette's last night. Some Pontiac came across the line and they were correcting each other....
Then I turn over to RM and the only thing you hear is the auctioneer and their sidekick, as if you were there. I wish B-J was that way but instead they treat it like radio where they cannot have even a second of silence (other than the auction noises).
It's entertaining but I'd never want my car on their auction block. Way too many other auction houses to pick from.

Easy to understand why this GTS did not get the big bucks.....no jump post cover. Considering the comisson and taxes the buyer in my estimation paid around $80k
The green GTS at Bonhams ended up a bit over $100k and the '79 around $65k. What I found really interesting with the Bonhams auction were the cars that bookend the 79 were what appeared to be very nice 911's which did not get much over $40k. Having been a driver at R&S auctions a few times in Monterey some ot the cars that cross the block look great on TV and under the lights but when closely examined prior to the bidding or clowns like me sitting in the cars on the block, many leave a lot to be desired. Not sure about the 79 or where it came from but my guess is that there were buyers that inspected the hell out of it. Wonder if it will stay in the US?
I agree, I would never sell a 928 at a BJ auction. Better luck on BAT

'79 petrol on Bonhams
I think we all agreed that the '79 is worth $50k but none of us will pay close to that, at least not anyone who's admitted to bidding that high. That kind of money is usually from overseas, likely Europe/Germany.
In another 10 years, that '79 will be worth >$100k when 928's 50th anniversary hits.
In another 10 years, that '79 will be worth >$100k when 928's 50th anniversary hits.
