Haha yes I know what you mean. Personally I would have one of every type but I would still not be satisfied..

Super Cool!! ... its a great feeling when one stumbles upon these types of finds! It's "easy":

1. vigilantly follow up on every rumor or mention of any interesting car sitting anywhere
2. travel as necessary to seek out the story
3. bring cash every time, be ready to buy..and be ready to transport quickly.
4. ALWAYS ask what else they have around.. (went to look at a ur Quattro once, ended up getting a continental orange 78 928 euro from the back room)
5. repeat steps 1-4 hundreds of times
6. score your awesome find
7. repeat step 5

There's lots of great cars still out there waiting... faith is a critical element to success.

I would add:
0. Improve your knowledge of the cars, and build your network.

This has helped me a lot to buy my current CS.

There's not much more to tell. Curry and I were on a humanitarian mission to get a stranded S4 on the truck for shipment(successful sent to new owner). I was just snuffling around, and we weren't sure which black 928 was the one needing service. I could barely see inside the windows they were so crapped up, but once I saw the CS rims, my radar went into target acquisition from standby. I checked the shifter, tach redline and a quick look at the option sticker. We left after prepping the S4 and gave it a day or two of thoughtful consideration then went back with cash, and a BS story for the seller. I made a play for a Boxster he had there which I was trying to leverage 2 cars one deal, but he wasn't interested in that. So - he gave me a number, I pulled out my bucks, and he wrote it up(eventually). We had the Big Red truck and a batt, and carb cleaner. Spritzed it, and after a few pumps on the gas it fired and ran(rough), checked for oil pressure, shut it down, connected the tow strap, turned on the flashers and away we went. The price was maybe a bit more than the value of the Club Sport wheels on the retail market.

Before we left I took a detour into the back of the shop to look at a very rough Lamborghini Espada. Completely disassembled, needing 5-600 hours of labor to finish. No thanks.

This is Karma! Doc and Curry went to do an altruistic act and left being rewarded for their generosity.

Congratulations to both!

So, who's on the bill of sell as buyer?

You or John?

I took title. Technically, it was my 'find', but still a two man job. We are sharing the windfall equal.
