Looks like 1/2 of the part is normal cylinder with the other half being the oblong side that would loosen / tighten the tilt function.
Is the ridge that separates the top (has the hole) and bottom constant or does it gradually spin upward toward the hole end?

Rob - seriously - Thank you.
I am going to take the pics to a 3d printing place that does automotive parts and see what they say.
I think i could mill this from a sold nylon block as well. But I am going to try the 3d thing first.
Will let you know how this turns out.

Not quite sure what you're asking- Both the top and bottom segments are perfectly round, the ~10mm bore is centered in the smaller diameter segment, offset in the larger diameter segment. I think you mean the ridge between the Small and big diameters? It's a little hard to see the ridge clearly because of the crack in the piece. But if you look from one end, the two segments'circumferences align axially on one side, and not the other. Like so: (Is this what you're asking? )

One last question Rob - when you took this off the lever shaft - how tight on there was it ?
Super tight - had to use another tool to pull the pieces apart ?
Snug - could pull it off w little effort ?
Loose - just fell off ?
Just trying to figure the tolerances for the center hole.

Snug- I could move it partly with my fingers, til I realized that it was partially cracked, so I used a pair of pliers to gently push it off the forward end of the adjustment shaft. I did not remove the adjuster shaft from the bearing that it runs through close to the handle end.

Rob - thanks to your help and pictures - certainly above and beyond behavior. I have been able to fabricate the nylon piece that was NLA at Porsche. I would say it's about 90% there. I still need to tweak the nylon piece a bit more to make it perfect. The version I created still has the tilt adjustment a bit to tight and if i loosen it the oblong nylon isn't big enough to lock the column down again - so still have some work to do. Considering the tilt was non functional before - I can live with it for now as I am able to use it. I will update rennlist once I have my final version. Thanks for the help.

Awesome! Since yours broke, and mine is cracked, there are likely a bunch of 90+ airbag dash 928 owners who have cracked adjusters who just don't know it yet. Once you've got the dimensions the way you like it, you could probably partner with Mark or Roger and sell a couple. I'd certainly buy one.

Most of the 928’s instrument cluster issues stem directly from moving the pod up/down over the years. As it moves, all the wires back there move with it. As these cars age, the plastic connectors get brittle... Not a good thing. ‘Set it and forget it’—-also, don’t let anyone adjust it unless they’re buying the car.

The fabricated part broke about 4 weeks into using it. Version 2 has not been created and I currently have a few items in line prior to attempting version 2.
Timeline is uncertain to say the least.
Sorry - might be a good winter project considering COVID restricts us from doing anything else.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread…
My 1991 GT came (to me) with a broken nylon eccentric. It actually came off the lever column in 3 pieces, but seeing it listed as available (and cheap) everywhere I simply discarded them thinking I’ll get a new one…
I know we are 3+ years and one COVID later (hence apology) but wondering if @1990jim929 or any of the other folks in my position were able to fabricate or source these eccentric cylinders?
I purchased other pieces I was missing for this assembly (pins washers etc) new from Porsche but no luck o getting an eccentric.
Fingers crossed this group was able to solve it somehow? I would really like to enjoy one of the 928’s future-forward features!
