S4 Dash warning lights all came on for a moment
My 928 S4 instrument warning lights ALL flickered on for a moment whilst sitting in a traffic jam at night with the lights on. Then all went back to normal-except the heater slider lights are out. The heater and fan and ac work fine though. Any ideas please?
Any help much appreciated

Given it was a transient issue one has to suspect something that changes condition and did so erroneously- the ignition switch thus might be a prime candidate for further investigation as they are a known age related failure point. Whether the heater slider light has relevance may also be a clue but I cannot relate that to what you report [my limitations].

Happened to me a few times. The fix for me was to tighten the 'T' piece that connects to the +ve terminal of the battery, and tighten the wires that connect to that too. Hope this ehlps.

A disruption of the voltage charge from the alternator will turn on the warning lamps after the start cycle has finished and the engine is running and the lamps went out.
How long since the alternator brush holder was inspected?
You may need new brushes.
The HVAC lamp not working is a bulb issue and that requires the head unit be removed,
then the case opened ,
then the bulb holder removed from its slot,
then the bulb replaced.
NOTE you have spare bulbs in your illuminated pod switches,
so you could effect this repair then swap in a new bulb to the pirated switch when your new bulbs arrive
Also make sure the pod light dimmer is working first , as well as the fuse.
as this can cause the lamps to stop working though it would be all of the of them
