no room in the console might fit a door panel but it will be low mounted.
You might be able to make a panel and mount it to the front of the seat ,
then this would stow under the seat and hold your drink when needed

I think the front of the seat is the best place

That does look nice.

Maybe where the driver's side coin holder is located as it would start further out than the vertical surface of the door panel.

I velcro a couple ultimate cupholders to the side wall in front of the seats.

Another idea would be to fabricate a plate that attaches underneath the seat at the front edge and to one side so it moves with the seat, then build this into that plate.

Had one just like in in two different Saab’s. One horizontal, one vertical, both mostly worthless.
Not big enough for day to day use.
Not substantial enough.

LOL I was going to post the same. The one in my 9-5 was useless as **** on s bull.

For a cup holdee I have a simple round unit attached just behind the hand brake on the top back of the cover. Perfect spot and easy to grab with my right hand.

I have the '2 cups and a little square space' that shoves down between the seat and the center hump.

This one:
Amazon Amazon

Works well enough. Tilts towards the seat some, so I have to be careful with a full cup.

Doesn't intrude on the seat space much for the passenger.

No mods to the car at all,
