Euro 4,7S timing gear upgrade
Greeting from Finland
Just bought new project car 928 4,7s euro -1982 manual
it has been sitting in the barn last 9 years and i am trying to restore it back to life. I all ready got it running not very well but running anyway so i know there should not be any major problems...
I need to change the timing belt, waterpump, and idlers.
Now the question i noticed that my cam, oilpump and crank pulleys (sprockets) are quite worn and need to be replaced.
I have not found older style pulleys all the pulleys (sprockets) are never style with round tooths. Are these never style pulleys direct replacement so i can buy these and round tooth belt ??

Welcome.
Yes, the newer gears are direct replacements. They are commonly called 'gears', even though they don't actually mesh with another gear.
Roger Tyson at 928s R Us carries the timing gears and a replacement steel oil pump gear (won't wear as fast). Not sure about the crank gear.
He's in the US, but routinely ships all over the world.
An early Euro S is a pretty cool car.
Got any pics of it?

Welcome - you need to replace all 4 gears and use the later round tooth Timing belt - all should be good.
