Default Specific ground Issue?

While preparing the XX8 for "Sharks in Hell" I thought everything was coming together and all of the sudden the "check engine" and "anti-lock" lights came on and all gauges (excepting the volt gauge) stopped working. All other functions of the car are in order. It runs great, AC, headlights, turn signals, windows etc all work...

No: Speedo, tach, fuel, temp, multifunction display, oil pressure gauge.

Yikes! I removed and re-attached the battery ground strap and re-booted the car but nothing changed.

Where do I start?

Check interior light fuse, I would bet your interior lights are also inop.

Check/replace fuse #25 7.5amp and quit messing with the interior lights, you most likely tagged a positive terminal on side the metal reinforcement around the light opening, ask me how I know..LOL

Cheers,

Dave

^^^^^ Merchauser, DR and AO ^^^^^ Thanks! I'll check out fuse 25.

In my preparations I did remove and replace the rear interior light to clean the area so this makes sense!

NOTE disconnect the battery when working on any of the interior lamps ,
grounding any of the positive wires could cause smoke to be let out of the wires
