Default Poor fluid flow thru PSD slave?

while flushing and bleeding my PSD, I got great positive fluid flow bleeding the accumulator, but only
a steady "drizzle" at the slave. the slave was replace 2 years ago, so I am thinking it might be the regulator?

Are you using the Ott/Veninger instructions for bleeding/flushing? And following the instructions exactly as written on page 7 for bleeding the slave? (ie you re-primed the accumulator 1st?)

hi rob: for the first part of the bleed I followed the ott instructions, and then to bleed the slave, I used a bosch hammer
with the PSD bleed function.

I'm not familiar with the use of the Hammer to bleed the slave, can't help you with that. But it sounds like you're not getting the accumulator re-pressurized before opening the slave bleeder. Give it a try using the Ott instructions.

Using the Ott procedure it is so easy I am just left wondering why you would deviate.

When I did mine despite having changed the fluid [at the dealers a couple of years earlier, the stuff that came out of the dead ended slave did not look too healthy- thus why we flush/refresh of course. The fluid came out easy enough but maybe what I consider ok you might consider sluggish who knows. As Rob says, the main cylinder has to be correctly charged. If it is and you have a problem then presumably it would be caused by corrosion crud partially blocking the flow path.

Make sure you are wearing goggles when doing this and that you have a tail pipe over the bleed nipple which also has to be opened sufficiently.- that point should be easy to determine.

the only difference is that with the hammer you just press a key to activate power, as opposed to the ott method using a jumper wire.
it makes it easier when you are under the car with only 2 hands.

Could be a gunked up pressure valve. Surprisingly one of the cheaper things on a 928 to replace.

Was the system giving you trouble before flushing the system? If not, the system may be working just fine. When I bleed the system, it seemed to come out fairly fast. You could drain the reservoir in 30-60 seconds if I remember right.

no prior trouble: I had a leaking elbow fitting at the lower hose that attaches to the pump.
