Default Cruise and brake pressure

So...on my way home from SITM, I’m rolling down the interstate, no issues, 70mph....and suddenly, I think, “ hey, I have never tried the cruise”. So I hit the cruise switch, and instantly, the warning “ ! “ started flashing and “ brake pressure “ text on the dash lit up, and the central warning button started flashing. It’s the craziest thing! I was not even touching the brake, just turned on the cruise control... (which didn’t work).

so:

1) what happened? Why would the cruise trip the brake pressure?
2) what’s the fix?
3) how do I reset it? ( I think I disconnect battery?) to stop the flashing

funnier thing...now the oil pressure gauge is working...nutz...

Ok, disconnected battery for about 10 minutes... everything back to normal. Took her for a ride, and noticed that the Oil Pressure gauge is now working properly..how weird is that?

guess I won’t be using the cruise anytime soon..:

Sounds like a vacuum issue to me - cruise attempt produced an air leak? Do your heater controls all work OK, as they are vacuum operated?

No, in fact, none of the vacuum pods actuate....they all work with mighty vac....interesting....had no idea the vacuum system for the heat and a/c tied to the cruise / tied to the brake...guess I should have known, since the brake can cancel the cruise....guess I need to do some research....

I kinda think it's a vacuum issue, ...also my cruise only almost worked once.
...but what got my attention was the thread title, long story....
The other day I had a noticeable brake fade while applying the brakes immediately after a WOT moment. Kinda unexpected as my pads and rotors are newish.
Under normal driving I can stop on a dime with change, but this was actually the first time I went from heavy WOT to hard break, so I just thought it was a vacuum issue.... The reason for the hard brake was a bunch of left lane Duck lovers that stopped to watch them cross the road.,

My cruise actually works. Vacuum for it is from that bulbous looking tank in the front fender well. Mine is funny though as it cuts off temporarily anytime I do anything electrical then automatically resumes. For example, driving along with cruise engaged, use the turn signal stalk to switch lanes, cruise cuts off, release the lever cruise resumes. Same thing happens if I blow the horn - cruise cuts off then resumes. Not problematic enough to worry about.
