What he said...

the he cars are moving, albeit slowly, from “used car” through “interesting car” towards collectible status. Complete plays a big part in the value. Ive looked more than a few otherwise interesting cars over the years that dropped back into used or even parts-car status because of missing parts and modifications. Protect your investment by saving the original bits with the car even if you don’t keep them installed.

Will it fit an 87? The bearings seized in mine and I need a replacement, no garage anymore so just want to replace it and not mess with doing the bearings.

I'm with the keep it crowd. I sold my original radio when I bought Blumaxx (a 78 in otherwise outstanding condition) to someone for something like $25 I have removed my smog pump and all of the associated plumbing, but I have it, and everything else I've removed (since the radio) in a box. Original stuff, original manufacturer date codes. Even if I never reinstall it, the next guy will want the stuff.

Not to mention that a California buyer would have to reinstall, right? Other jurisdictions, too. May not have to work, but has to be there.

I'm just getting into these Porsches, but I've been through this with the Honda CB motorcycles and MGBs. The CBs are definitely worth more as original examples, and sell much faster that way too. Most of the aftermarket work I see on cars or motorcycles (even just removing emissions eqpt) is usually indicative of incomplete work, and keeps buyers away. Plus, considering that CA is now the 5th largest economy in the world, it's a good idea to keep cars available for sale in CA, which will require emissions eqpt (well, except for my weird 928s euro unicorn - is that a eurocorn?).

Ramblings aside, I'd say keep the parts.
