My 86 is in the bad respray category too. Although it does look nice from 20 feet.

I quite admire you guys who own few 928s that all need some serious work.

It took me many years to do what I wanted to do on mine to be relatively happy with it.
I would be insane by now if I would have done all this on few cars!
And divorced for sure...

Keep up the good work.

Hey captain, go get you a metal barn building, not too expensive and room for a lift!

Then you have room on the patio for the overflow...

(I really have 4 of them, but I don’t count the parts car)

it took my wife a few days to notice the one on the patio, tried to get it in the basement but the door width was 3” too narrow.

tried to hide it under the deck, but didn’t do too good there either....that’s when she cut me off. I have until the end of June to get it gone....now that the white one runs, I’m just going to put the patio car on the lift and park the white one under it.

I do have a garage, but I'm currently living 500 miles away from it, so it's either be cramped in the tiny garage here or work outside.

3 928's in itself is not a problem. The problem is that you only have 3 928's and none of them run.

My first wife cut me off for a month and I didn't even notice

She also was the one to ask if I loved my cars more than I loved her...….Well, I had to answer truthfully! After all, good relationships are based on truth, right?

I have been placed on a strict two 928 diet by the Master Of All She Surveys.

Not a bad plan really, or I would have 8+ lingering around. I know someone like that. They own him, he doesn't own them.

I think I may have a different problem. Just when I think I need money and sell my 928, I almost immediately use what’s left of that money to buy another 928.

Seriously.

Bless my wife's heart. She encourages my addiction. In Tokyo parking is so expensive. The only option now is to buy a second house in the countryside. My count now is 4 Porsche 2 Benz. Tonnes of parts from 2 cars I parted. Tried to get rid of the w210 wagons one of which is the E55 Benzs but they are just so reliable and I can't think of another car that ticks all the boxes, fast, reliable, flexible, holds value. As far as the P cars go, first to go would be the 996tt, if I didn't have a loan on it and the 951 if it didn't need a respray. All the small cheap paint shops here closed. Now I'm looking at $3k min for full respray. The 928 only needs a touch up here and there and a few bits

I miss living in the country where I had acres upon acres to park all my junk. Living in a residential area sucks.

Other than the dash pad and steering wheel, the interior is pretty good.

Sweet!
Before I took my 1986.5 apart, she was all kinds of fun to drive. Look forward to seeing what you do with this one.
