Default Disconnecting Central Warning Computer

Good Morning.

I am attempting to disconnect and remove the central waring computer. I have disconnected the footwell. There appears to be two rectangular wiring connectors each with multiple wires going to an aluminum box. I assume these connectors can be removed by unpluggung them, however, I cannot seem to budge them loose. Is there some trick to this or just push until they unplug?

Thanks in advance,

Why are you disconnecting the central warning system? Is that pesky belt tension light irritating you?

No, it is the coolant light. I am trying to swap central waring computers between the red '87 and the blue '87 to determine if a defective computer in the blue '87 is causing the light to stay on.

If it were the belt tension light, I'd immediately do the proper thing and snip the wire to the warning light!

Alternatively you can remove the warning lights in the dash, like my PO did with the ABS and Brake Pad lights. The PO did do one thing right though - the bolts on my waterpump were nicely coated with anti-sieze, I wasn't looking forward to any of them shearing.

Larry - the yellow and black connectors to the CWS brain may require abit of tugging to get them out.

I don't recall any 'locking' tabs - but take a look for them.

I recall that they may have locking tabs on one end...I dont remember for sure , but they come up at one end and pivot on the other. I had to pry my connectors out with a small flat screwdriver the first time.
