So the system failed, made lots of metal in place without oil..and is now seized up at every surface...in it's own shavings and disappointment.

Ain't nothing going to be useful in this engine...maybe cam journals didn't take much abuse..but....

For those asking..intake is clean and baby smooth...nothing unusual about it.
I've never seen or heard of an "oil system failure".

it would be great to know what specifically happened.

Yup, the filter weighs the same as a new one in a box. During operation no oil made it to the filter..and the engine.

How can an oil filter have no oil in it unless the current owner has not seen the engine running and it was purchased as a non runner?

Default No oil pressure

We took off the oil filter to change out the pressure sensor. When replaced the sensor and ran the car still no oil pressure we went back to the oil sensor and checked the oil filter and it hadn't filled back up with oil.

Is that a crack at 9:00? And why does the look like it's been staked and what's with the horizontal scratches?

That is not what my oil pumps look like in that view.

Here's a healthy oil pump:

ok so the oil pickup is plugged or the pick up tube seal to the block has failed.

Based on the story from the Owner the engine was running fine for 2 tanks of gas so how does the oil filter not have oil in it.
Who put it on without filling it up with oil?
Or was the filter swapped out when the no oil light came on to see if it would fill?

When we lost oil pressure on the first test drive after the intake refresh. We removed the oil filter to check the the sender and spring some oil came out of the filter then. We ran it again still not oil pressure at the gauge. I got a new sender and when installing I remove the filter again that is when we notices that the oil filter didn't refile with oil. But i didn't think that much about because I only ran it for maybe 30 seconds. We changed the oil with a new filter, oil and sending unit and the light went out only one bar of pressure only ran it for a couple of minutes and that is when the damage was done.

I need to thank Jeff from speedtoys for helping today, Fun working together and sad at the same time.

FWIW when you fit a new oil filter to the 928 engine it should be SOP to prefill the filter with oil
not sure if thats what you did

SOP = Standard Operating Procedure
prefill the oil filter before installing it
