Well Done David, my compliments and congratulations. As I recall, Harry C's son was the original owner, and I'm sure he would be very appreciative of your role as next caretaker.

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks guys.

Flinstigator, it would have been great to have you and your 928 there! It's good to know there is another 928 owner in the region. Normally there are a couple of them at the Concours in competition with 968's, 944's, and 924's within the "Early Sport Class." There is a slate grey metallic '83 928S that often takes "First-in-Class," but he wasn't there this year. The black 1994 968 looked pristine, so I thought it might take 1st place.

Constantine, even though the judges couldn't see your installed Super Clamp, Super Bearings, new drive shaft, and powder-coated torque tube, they make all the difference in the car's continuing survival and drivability. Thanks for all the help over the years. You are missed in Vero Beach.

Gary, you are right about Skip Caray (Harry Caray's son) being the former owner. I have all the service records and he and Paula Caray are listed on them while he owned car. After Skip passed away, I sent a letter to his son, Chip Caray, with the full details of the car's history, its current status after leaving Skip's ownership, and how to view it in the 928 Registry. I thought he might be interested in knowing that it is being taking care of properly and that his father's car continues to carry on his legacy.

Those of you with sharp eyes might find some interesting things on and near the Swap tables. See the link for all the event photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/auUhzLvNWJ7t9e51A

Great thread, and well done with your car!
I really hope 928s don't surge before I can get our youngest out of college and have some discretionary money again, and before I get my wife a Boxster. Priorities...
Cheers,
H.

Rescued this at the Concours event. It was among several 928 models on one of the Swap tables (see last photo).
