Default VIN decoder

Where do I find a guide to the significance of the various digits in a 928 VIN?

Thanks,
Mark.

Do a search and you'll find it.

Mark: it's in the WSM. I thought it was on 928s4vr.com, but that site has been up and down. If is is working, there is a lot stuff you will want to print. Knowing that you are "buying," it sounds like you need the "specs" option codes and paint codes at 928gt.com. There is a chart on engines and transmissions, etc. by year that is very useful. And you will want to print a copy of the relay chart.

VIN codes, engine codes, transmission codes and Option Codes are all on PET too.

When you have selected a car model, and then year, you can select the "Function" tab and select which decoder you need.

I Googled and found this:

http://www.landsharkoz.com/tt/ttvin.htm

Should do the trick.
