Thanks, got your PM.

3800Gbp for an uncomplete engine is a fantasy price. Its basically a long-block. No intake, etc...

Im still sort of looking for a M28/43 0r M28/44 for sale in Europe, if anyone has any pointers.

Alternatively, if anyone has everything on top of the engine for sale, I know of a long block. I would essentially need everything on top of the engine. Intake, throttle body, fixings for throttle wires etc......

Any pointers?

We have 3 or 4 US 32V engines in pieces in garage. They were bought just for short blocks and cams. Everything else is useless for us. Since heads, intakes etc. are same between US high CR and ROW low CR engines they are directly usable in both setups. Locally no one needs them. Can't even give them away. If only we had time to even try to sell them.

I would be very interested in the intake and anything on top of the engine, fuel rails, injectors, etc.....etc...... If you have any of that.

Good used '43 and '44 engines, which can be rebuilt, have become difficult to find, here, also.
928 International had probably 30-40 of these engines, sitting outside.
Mark decided that they were costing him more to store than they were worth, so he sold all of them for scrap.
Consequently, the last time I needed one of these engines, it was expensive.
....And difficult to find.
I finally bought a disassembled engine, with fantastic bores and pistons.
Which has become almost essential to find, since the last time I checked, Porsche had no oversize pistons (100.5mm) for a '43/'44 application.
And had no plans on making any....

And I believe that it won't be too far into the future, when we look back at the "high prices" for these used engines and think..."Wow, that was a real bargain!"

Yes, indeed. But unfortunately these US spec cars have very little value in Europe compared to the ROW counterparts. I might install a S2 engine in it and call it a day. Seems the easiest conversion.

Understand that.
Even Porsche treated these two years of engines as the bastard children of the different 928 engine families. (And try to remember that in the "automobile world" bastard children versions always turn out to be the most desired, as time passes.)
Porsche was very vocal about the lack of much performance difference between the S2 and the '43/'44 engines.

However, I never did understand why Porsche didn't continue on with developing these engine....like installing larger valves.
Instead they used a completely different configuration engine....with bigger valves. (Both engines had to be under development at the same time.)

There must have been some incredible politics going on, regarding these two engines.....and clearly, the '43/'44 camp lost!
