Ed please put me down for two sets

The last pair I've purchased, fan less metal cased H4 LED's (same package as the ones you have shown), however they have the Ballast built in or it's no longer need it?

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ink/3929/8565/

Thanks for putting together another great product for after market 928 accessories.

Dave, I'm a little concerned about whether the caps will fit that model LED H4. I don't think it's the same design. Note different number of LED emitters (blocks of 3 vs. 4 on the LUMILEDS) and, more importantly, that the barrel over which the heat sink screws appears to be shorter than on the LUMILEDS.

Do you already have those bulbs? Would you be able to take a measurement for me? What is b in the diagram below? That's from the top of the flange to where the barrel narrows (and the O-ring between the barrel and the heat sink is placed). Unfortunately, the Super Bright LEDs specs don't provide that measurement, but it's critical with respect to the H4 cap. And — I just noticed — they don't give the diameter of the barrel, either, which I'd hope would be 22 mm.

Hi Ed, yes I have 3 pair, two of which are in 7" H4's for over a year now and one pair I recently installed in the 8" H4 lenses.
I'm working on restoring a second pair of H4's, and I think you are spot one, we need the moisture / breather on those 8" lenses.

I'll pull off the cover on the 8" and measure them as requested.
Thanks!

Dave

Same info that I posted in the other thread for Ed's "LED Sealing Cap's":

I measured the SuperBright H4 LED's (12 LED's per bulb) and the barrel diameter is only 18mm, and the distance to the Heatsink is 8mm from the headlight Lamp mount (3 tab flange).
Given the pricing of the Lumileds(?) at around 70 bucks, I'll pick up some and use them in the 8" H4 Lenses, and allocate the ones I have to the 7" H4 Lenses

Thank again Ed for doing this!

Thanks for the info. I replied in that other thread.

And you're welcome.

I wasn't sure there was more interest in these, but now that I know there is, I'll see if I can get a new batch whipped up within the next month.

Default H4 LED Upgrade Question

Upgraded the original H4 Hellas with Bosch H4s 3 months ago from Roger. I’ve been using the Hikari Eye of Megatron led bulbs in 5 of my vehicles with great results for 3 years now. Once I made the switch to the Bosch, I realized the older top of the line Hikari H4 might not fit using Ed’s brilliant cap. Found with a little research that Hikari has a new gen top of the line bulb called the acme X. Perfect fitment with Ed’s cap…and the led light performance is nothing short of amazing (older eyes needing more light driving at night). I’m using the Singl led H3 in the fog light position…which offer little advantage with the new set up.

Couple of photos follow…

Final Hikari fitment with Ed cap…fits like a glove

Yes the garage is at an angle…beam from 12’ approx
