I should know how the clutch assist spring is mounted in a GTS . There was a change from 1992 on.
The clutch assist spring in the previous models has slightly less power so I'm thinking to swap to the GTS style.
The attached pictures show the previous style clutch assist spring and the GTS style guide sleeve.
My question is :
Can someone pls post a detailed picture so I can see how that guide sleeve is mounted in the car?
Thank you
the spring assist is adjustable. I installed a very heavy clutch pressure plate as well as metal stintered clutch from SPEC and the assist is fine. As a matter of fact I had adjusted the pedal so much that it felt like a Honda (too much assist) and I dialed it back to less assist than it was capable.
Hi, sorry I forgot to post, I looked for this thing you pictured, in my car, but couldn't find it. Robs video partly explains why, as I didn't press the clutch pedal to reveal it Can't do it now either because my slave cylinder is out at the moment.
if you're going to be under there messing with the spring, double check the integrity of the sheetmetal it pivots against.
944's had the same spring and mine tore thru its sheet metal mounting and jammed, i had to ditch the spring altogether.
can someone elaborate about how to adjust this spring for a more firmer feel? I happen to prefer the feel
of a heavy pedal and would like to know how to adjust. also, does this adjustment change the pedal position??
I thought it's maybe an easy swap from previous model to the GTS style clutch assist with stronger spring support.
But the console in which the spring sleeve guide is mounted is quite different to the previous models .
No easy swap possible --> project cancelled .
