Default Getting closer

Some updates from another long weekend...getting MUCH closer now!

1) Installed short shift lever (I sure hope I can still find 2nd and 4th without going up under the car again).
2) Rear spoiler and mirrors treated with a sauna bath and vaseline. I was skeptical but they are better than they were.
3) Reinstalled dash trim and steering wheel
4) Console is back in along with side panels
5) Rear seat cushions glued back in
6) Front seats bolted in - switches refurbed. First time since I have had car that all seat functions work
7) Sill plates cleaned, glued and reinstalled
8) Door panels reinstalled - bracing added where plastic was broken

Still some trim to install inside (headliner screws, coat hook buttons, etc.)
Main part of rear spoiler needs to screw in and reinstall trim
Side mirrors reassemble and install
Wire and install amplifier board

Rear spoiler after treatment with vaseline and wrapped in plastic garbage bag and left in sun for a few hours. Much softer - better than it was

Visors and clips remounted in front.

Not too much drama here.

Sill plates reinstalled and drivers seat bolted in. Nice to have all 4 bolts holding the seats in place

Sill plate

Dash lights on and steering wheel back in

Short shifter in - love the feel but will need a new ****...the factory **** is too "rubbery" at the top now with the short throws.

Console back in place

Rear console stapled back in and seat cushions glued in.

All we need here is the cover for the ebrake and seatbelt runner, and the rest of the new carpets

Door panels reassembled. Nice to have all the bolts in place, new fasteners, etc.

Default Weekend update

Lots of little things going on, but not a lot in the way of pictures. Need to take more and post...of the details (this is where things seem to really slow down)...

1) Repaired vinyl on rear hatch trim
2) Reinstalled rear hatch trim pieces - still need to clean them
3) Reinstalled wipers and exterior trim, rear hatch lock, rear wiper mechanism, etc.
4) Wired audio amplifier board. Waiting on fuses and two connectors to test.
5) Fixed fuel gague

Still on the list...
1) Wire radio antenna and reinstall rear wheel liner
2) finish installing door panel trim and tighten once speaker operatin verified
3) Installation of audio
4) HVAC reverted to old way of operating (vacuum related - thoguht i had that fixed)...ugh!
5) Temp gauge not working - could be a number of things
6) Adjust mixture - still running too rich
7) New shift ****. The factory **** is too "rubbery" at the top for the short shifter. Need something a little more firm at the top.
8) Install rear carpet. Figure out subwoofer (I found a bose 'spare tire sub' at LKQ - decide whether to use that or go with original plan)
9) Install sunroof inner trim panel
10) Figure out trim around sunroof hole in headliner/roof - I think I i have a plan - just need to order the materials

Go

My new "cup holder" is going to have to be redesigned. I have some extra carpet so not a huge deal. Just did not make it tall enough. I really like the color combination though of interior and exterior.

Still have to put the center cap on back right wheel

Late afternoon sun - need to really take some nice pics with a good camera at some point
od news is we are on the road again. Been driving over the weekend and to work today. So nice to be back at it! Short shifter is wonderful.

Looking good!

I'll bet your shifter is not down all the way, looks too tall. I had the exact same experience. Remove it (without hitting yourself in the face) spray something into the boot (soapy water, windex, etc.) and push it down all the way
