Hi there first post, a little Car history would also help, like how long have you had the car and when did this start to do this?
Also they should all come on w/ the key on, but go out once started, IIRC there is a signal from the Alternator that tells the Warning computer the engine is now running.
So were you working on something, whats the last thing you fixed
Welcome,
Dave K

The car sat for probably 15 years. The prior owner used to start the car once a year but when we purchased it (about 8 months ago) - it was not running. Initially it had no spark on one side so it would turn over but never start. All plugs were replaced and every wire in the harness was checked for power. The last thing and the one that got the car running was the replacement of the computer. It is a pristine car with only 30K miles on it - that's why we bought it. I am SO happy that it runs now but the dash lights are the issue.
The lights do all come on when started but stay on afterwards.

Congratulations on your purchase. THIS THREAD......
Is your car a 16 valve Euro model, or is it a 32 valve US car? Where did you source the replacement computer? These things may be not truly necessary to help diagnose what's going on with your car, but they might help everyone understand just exactly what you are dealing with.
If your alternator is not connected or connected incorrectly, your warning lights will stay lit, This is by no means the only thing that can cause this.
Please tell us more about you and your location and the car and what has been done to the car that you know, so that we can help. Someone might live close by and be able to look at it with you to help diagnose the problem
Good Luck!.

Welcome.
It sounds like you have a car with great potential.
To check the alternator, see what kind of voltage you are getting with the motor running. It should be over 13 volts. You can test at the hot post on the right side, up near the radiator.
Gas gauge and oil pressure gauge could be a connection in the pod. There are instructions to R&R the pod linked in the New Visitor sticky, Dwayne's Garage has very good ones.
And...
...IS USELESS...

Disconnect the battery, unplug the 14 pin connector on the right inner fender (by the jump post), clean it and reassemble.
The Alternator trigger wire runs through it and it could be a bad connection, if not, check the Alt connection (also w/ batt disco).
Do all this before removing the POD
Hopefully you changed all the fluids, sounds like a fun project, please post some pic's as it will help us help you

Issue with dash lights
I live in Lake Ariel, PA if there is anyone in the vicinity that might be able to help. I also plan on being at the Carlisle Porsche show this month. I won't be bringing the car but I will have lots of pictures. The car runs perfectly it's just the issue of the warning lights. All of the methods in the responses have been tried with no success. But we are getting there - we started with a gorgeous car that wouldn't run. Now we have a gorgeous car that runs but has lots of warning lights on.....

Sounds like you have a great car with that low mileage. But it also sounds like your priority has been to get'er runnin', which is fine in and of itself, but with a car of that age once you do, you should then shut'er down. Gorgeous is great, but it's not enough- there are safety issues which should be your first priority, and then mechanical issues you need to address as well. Have you read the new visitor sticky? It would be good to do so, if not, and then come back to us with questions, of which you will have a bundle. And search (although the forum software is not the best) is your friend. Try "fuel lines" for starters, and see how much you need to know about this topic alone. MrMerlin has already been mentioned, and IMHO if you are not mechanically inclined you should take it to him for a thorough going over.
