Mine does this too. What’s the fix? Something must be out of adjustment or worn out.

What kind of tape do you use on your "Rubber Duckie"?

I got a spare key that is just the blade. No head, so it fits in my wallet, along with the spare key to the 944 and the spare house key.

Learned that lesson a loooong time ago.

The door lock motors need adjusting. The WSM have this process outlined.

I've got one client's GTS that would roll the windows up, close the sunroof, and lock the doors with the car running or not.

And he had no spare key.

We had to break two windows on that car, in one week. "Which window shall we break, this time?"

Of course, it was our fault that he had a alarm system that did this....

Glad you wrote this. I was going to point out that even a non-running 928 can decide all on its own to lock the doors, but I figured folks would call me crazy...

Never noticed that, had to go out and give it a try as I always lock with the key to arm the alarm.

Now if only someone can tell me why Porsche placed the lock dials so far back that you need to be a contortionist to reach them. It seems especially asinine on the earlier models that have no electric push button on the dash. Get wedged or pinned a little after an accident and good luck trying get an arm back there.
I've read that it's for giving rear passengers easy accesses in an emergency. Sorry, but the kids in back don't need access more than the adults up front who have control of the door handle.

Disable the electric locks:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-insanity.html

Mine will lock the drivers door when pulling up on the handle. At least now it doesn't lock the other door at the same time.

People think I am weird because I will not leave a car running without rolling the window down, even a brand new one with all the tech. If I am not in the car, and it is running, the windows are down!

My old XJ40 taught me this, the hard way. Another sort of related rule is never walk on a dock with your car keys in your hand... I had to go to Cornell to learn that one.

Yep, managed to get locked out after a passenger side latch replacement, windows up but with engine NOT running.

I learned thst it is possible to jimmy the lock open from the outside thru the gap bewteen the window, window seal and at the top back of the door using a very long, skinny screw driver and a flash light. There’s always hope.
