Do a web search on Land Rover part STC3368 and you'll get a bunch of hits on headlight adjuster sockets that look like this:

Readily available and cheap (e.g., $3.95 from one source here in the USA). I wonder if they'd work for us? I can't find any specs on the ball size. Looks like they're way beefier, and apparently work without any kind of retainer ring around them.

The corresponding adjusters are part STC1232 and look like this:

I'd take 2 also when you have a source.

Interesting spot- well done!

On Ebay UK you can get 120 of those for 85 pounds from an outfit in Australia if by some weird chance they happen to fit correctly. [most unlikely I suspect].

Trouble is they are made for the Land Rover Discovery and anything on thing can go twang out of the factory. Friend of mine got a new Disco 2 and told me how "they had improved the quality" - he duly pressed a switch on the dash and the damn thing exploded all over the cabin- I then ruined his passenger seat as I wet myself laughing my head off!
