H4 light repair..
That 4 piece plastic socket at the bottom of the light, that snaps onto a plastic ball.
one of mine no longer holds, missing too many ears, and it rotates up.
What to do?

Not really a repair, but I have seen cars where a small zip tie wrapped around the socket rements held the headlight in place.

One of mine failed. I have yet to make a permanent repair but as a stopgap solution I made a packer out of some silicon tube wrapped in some gorilla tape and wedged it such that it pushed the lamp full down. I then used the aim adjusters point it in a more appropriate higher direction. Not exactly brilliant but it seems to work. Pic is a little blurred
I have it on my project list to do something about it once the cooler season weather arrives. Getting the original bracket out was easy- drill the pop rivets- but as to what to put back in is the thing. A nice little project for someone with a 3D printer maybe if the material is suitable.

Is this the part you mean? This is on an H5 but IIRC the same deal on an H4.

I'd be up for a couple, too.
Most everybody probably needs a couple; they just don't know it.
These things are too brittle and easily broken. I wish there were a metal — or at least beefier, less brittle plastic — alternative.

I know I need two for the crapped out H4's I got from another 928 "expert".
