Compression ratios are available from 8.5:1 to 12:1, and we can set you up for anything from high boost to naturally-aspirated.

What's the "Hi-Rise 654"? Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place, but I can't find it.

The "Hi-Rise 654" is the name we have given to our new all-aluminum high-rise intake manifold for the 928. The "654" comes from the engine we developed it on, Adam's 6.54L motor.

It isn't on our website just yet, but soon will be after it undergoes final engine dyno testing.

We do a lot of 928 builds here, often 2-at-a-time. But not all of them are 6.54L strokers.

Looking at my system, I found ten 6.54L stroker builds, one 6.62L stroker, and one 7.0L stroker build. Some were complete motors with heads and cams, some were short-blocks only.

Our experience has shown that the 6.5 and 6.6 strokers hit a "sweet spot" and they have proven themselves very reliable and durable.

In my own case, 900+ HP for 4 racing seasons with no engine issues (a throttle body failure ruined this engine at Road America when the engine bounced against the rev-limiter for a complete lap of the 4-mile race course when the stupid driver (me) could not sit and wait to be towed in to the pits so he decided to drive there with the throttle stuck wide-open). Prior to this, it endured the Bonneville Salt Flats at wide-open throttle and max load repeatedly.

The 7.0L short-block we built has under-performed, but that engine is one where we were asked to build the rotating assembly only. We have had no control over it and the owner installed near-stock cams, valves, heads and intake manifold on it, so in my opinion, it is an under-performer. That said, it has been out there for 3 years with no rotating assembly issues.

Here is a nice video where we show another 6.54L on an engine dyno making 503 HP naturally aspirated. This engine will get the Hi-Rise 654 manifold and be going back to the dyno.

Carl retired and sold 928MS. New owners seem to only partially running the company. Also, there were mixed reports about the durability of some of Carls builds, though I did not have first hand experience myself.

Quite a few of the Carl "IP" items no longer seem available. Did not transfer hands with the sale of the company

As an owner of a 6.5 stroker there is a whole lot more to it than the kit Carl was offering. ( heads, valves, headers, and the list goes on and on)
I have 37k on mine so something must be right

At one point in time, we sold all of the pieces we used to build our 6.5 liter engines,
however, the pieces are just a percentage of what is required to successfully complete this task.

And providing the technical expertise to do this job consumed way too many hours of our time to make selling the pieces worthwhile.

Additionally, the pieces evolved so drastically, over the 20+ years we have been building these engines, to be very unique from what everyone else was doing.
(Which is why our engines are renowned for their longevity.)
Therefore, it became downright dumb to hand people 20 years of engineering improvements that they could reverse engineer in a couple of days.
