Mine is a 1981 European spec. 931 Series 2,with 122.000 km Alpine white over Guards Red and has A/C (rare for Europe), factory alarm.
Runs very well, but unfortunately still dealing with various minor odds and ends caused by the previous owner not turning a wheel in it for three years! The more I use it though the better it gets.

Hi, I have an 1988 924S Metallic Gray.
Just past 180,000 miles, car has been tracked, autocrossed and braved daily commutes into Manhattan. I had a lot of fun on the track especially at Mid-Ohio and Limerock because the car handled great (have turbo sway bars) and did not suffer from trailing throttle oversteer, made it hard to spin. I got a few 911 drivers red in the face, and that was on street tires!
Car has been slightly modified over the years, I have Koni Yellow's, the strong sway bars, a Mugen pedal set, momo shifter and steering wheel, 16" forged wheels (summer). Everytime I think about getting something else I get behind the wheel and I forget about other cars.
I am religious about fixing what I can myself (that can be a full time hobby) and making sure all fluids are changed regularly, along with proper tensioning of the timing and balance belts and fixing all leaks as soon as I spot them.
Keep the faith.
Chris

Welcome to Rennlist!
Make sure to commit to the registry at www.924.org as well. It's free.

I can't believe this thread is still going. It was started last MAY!
Anyway, my 924S, not 924, which is an entirely different car, is still going strong. Hey, BTW, how do I close that model forum menu on the left margin. I feel crowded in having to use a slide bar to read people's posts.

Worked perfectly! just the ticket..........
Thanks a million!
Let's see if I can get a picture in here....................Nope. Keeps telling me the file is too big. I'll work on getting a pic of my 924S on here.
OK, I got the pic on the thread entitled "New life for the 924S."

Tim. I was originally wondering about the 924S population on Rennlist.
We are getting to be a very rare breed.
BTW- when you open the rennlist window- you can "right click", and "open in a new window". That'll open up the forum alone- without the taskbar.

Could we get a translator in here?! Wings? Were they a factory option? If so, did the car come with an altimeter next to the oil pressure gauge?
Bonnet? Mine's got a sunroof, but would look kind of funny with a hat.
Front panels? Are those what we call fenders?
???????????
