Thanks for the additional photos. Yes I did buy a new sleeve ($100). A black one because thats what came with the car. The exhaust including shipping with all supporting parts was just under $1,200. I don't know why Porsche didn't paint the whole can. They don't give a pic when buying. Oh well thanks again for the pics!

this is Porsche...the kings of "delete options"
a standard replacement muffler is only $200, you missed the note where they said they'd only paint it halfway but charge another $1000.

Painting a muffler is pretty easy, I'd leave it to the next owner to decide whether to paint it or not.

Lol Ahhh now I know why you asked. The new one they sent me (replacement part) looks more flat black but is described as ornamental (decorative) like the original. I think maybe because it's new. It's also just a hair shorter but looks like it fits. The one that is on the old muffler is in great shape. So I'll see which one I go with. I'm keeping the old muffler to get it refurbished anyways. In case the new owner wants it.
